SuperCar Race Wars Rules

Supercar race wars is a street legal sports car racing competition limited to the following sports cars equiped with 2 doors and 2 seats that qualify for race competition.

American Supercars

Chevrolet Corvette, Dodge Viper, Ford GT

European Supercars

Audi R8, BMW M1, Bugatti Veyron, Ferrari, Jaguar X, Mclaren F1, Mercedes Benz Slr, Lamborghini, Porsche

Japanese Supercars

Acura Nsx, Datsun Z, Honda NSX, Mazda RX-7, Nissan GTR, Nissan Skyline, Toyota Supera

 

SUPER CAR RACE WARS consists of the Super Natural Race Class and the Super Power Race Class.

SUPER NATURAL RACE CLASS

The Super Natural Race Class competition is limited to super cars with naturally aspirated engines that do not use power adders. Power adders are not allowed. Supercharging, turbo charging and nitrous oxide injection are not allowed in the Super Natural Class. There are 2 categories for the Super Natural Class: SN1 for high powered Supercars and SN2 for moderately modified supercars. The SN2 Class requires original production wheels and tires & the SN1 Class allows light weight race wheels and drag radial tires.

Super Natural Race Class Categories

Super Natural 1 (SN1) - Light Weight Drag Race Wheels and drag radial tires allowed.

Super Natural 2 (SN2) - Production wheels & direct replacement size tires required.

 

RACE RULES

Super cars entering race competition must be street legal sports cars with 2 doors and 2 seats. Super cars must have street legal exhaust system and street legal tires during race competition.

Engine

The super car must use the original type engine equipment installed by manufacturer during production. Aftermarket direct replacement engine blocks, cylinder heads, crankshaft and pistons are allowed. Engine modifications are allowed.

Intake Manifold

Intake manifold must be direct replacement of original unit. Aftermarket high rise intake manifold is not allowed. Sheet metal intake manifold is not allowed.

Cylinder Heads

Aftermarket cylinder heads must be direct replacement that bolt up to production intake manifold. Race Cylinder Heads that do not bolt up to production intake manifold are not allowed.

Exhaust

Exhaust system must be street legal with all exhaust gases passing through mufflers and catalytic converters. Exhaust tail pipes must exit body of car in original stock location.

Body

Super cars must have original production style hoods. Aftermarket high rise hoods not allowed. Aftermarket Hood scoops not allowed.

Chassis & Suspension

Super cars must have original type chassis and suspension. Direct replacement aftermarket suspension components are allowed. Super cars originally equipped with IRS suspension (Independent Rear Suspension) must use the IRS suspension. Converting from IRS to solid axle suspension is not allowed. Aftermarket ladder bar and 4 link race suspensions are not allowed.

Weight

Weight reduction from the original curb weight for the super car is not allowed. All Super cars must be at minimum production vehicle curb weight as specified and validated by the manufacturer. The race weight of the Supercar must be the manufacturer‘s specified original equipment curb weight.

SN1 Race Class Wheels

Light weight aftermarket drag race wheels are allowed.

SN1 Race Class Tires

All 4 tires must be Street Legal D.O.T (Department of Transportation) approved. Race Slicks are not allowed.

SN2 Race Class Wheels

Original equipment wheels and aftermarket direct replacement wheels are required. Aftermarket wheels must be same size as original equipment factory production wheels. Light weight aftermarket drag race wheels are not allowed. Aftermarket drag race skinny front wheels are not allowed.

SN2 Race Class Tires

All tires must be original equipment tire installed by manufacturer or direct replacement same size tires. Drag Radial Tires are not allowed. Race Slicks are not allowed.

SUPER POWER RACE CLASS

The Super Power Class is the power adder class that allows the use of Superchargers, turbo chargers and nitrous oxide injection. There are 2 categories for the Supernatural Class: SP1 for high powered Supercars and SP2 for moderately modified supercars. The SP2 Class requires original production wheels and tires & the SP1 Class allows light weight race wheels and drag radial tires.

Super Power Race Class Categories

Super Power 1 (SP1) - Light Weight Drag Race Wheels and drag radial tires allowed.

Super Power 2 (SP2) - Production wheels & tires required. Drag Radials not allowed.

The production style hood must be used to maintain original appearance. Hood can not exceed maximum 4 inches above hood base. Hood vents and air ducts are allowed. Aftermarket Hood Scoops are not allowed.

Interior

The sports car must have both seats installed. Removal of passenger seat is not allowed. The original interior appearance is required.

Chassis & Suspension

Super cars must have original type chassis and suspension. Direct replacement aftermarket suspension components are allowed. Super cars originally equipped with IRS suspension (Independent Rear Suspension) must use the IRS suspension. Converting from IRS to solid axle suspension s not allowed. Aftermarket ladder bar and 4 link race suspensions are not allowed.

SP2 Race Class Wheels

Original equipment wheels and aftermarket direct replacement wheels are required. Aftermarket wheels must be same size as original equipment factory production wheels. Light weight aftermarket drag race wheels are not allowed. Aftermarket drag race skinny front wheels are not allowed.

SP2 Race Class Tires

All 4 tires must be Street Legal D.O.T (Department of Transportation) approved. Drag Radials not allowed. Race Slicks are not allowed.

Race Format

This race is an acceleration contest where two cars line up at the starting line to race. The race starts on a green light or an arm drop which is a hand signal to start the race. The first car that passes the finish line wins the race and proceeds to race in the next competition. A car that begins to race too early before the start of the race gets a red light and automatically loses.

Starting on a green light and crossing the finish line first wins the race. The winner of each race proceeds to race in the next round of competition.

Elapsed Time and Speed may not be seen after the race and are not a factor in winning this street style race. The Super Power 1 Class races to a distance of 1000 Feet. All other Supercar races are a ¼ mile distance.

Championship Race Winner

The two cars that enter the final round of race competition must race 3 times. A car that wins the first two races and is not able to finish the 3rd race loses the race. The Supercar Race War winner must race 3 full final round races and win at least 2 of 3 races.

The winner is required to demonstrate the street legal super car is able to run 3 consecutive races.

The winners of the Supercar Race Wars win a race champion trophy and prize money.
